Flodesk (Why We Love it & How We Use It)

 
 
 
 

Almost two years ago we switched from Mailchimp to Flodesk for our email list management, and we never looked back. It’s SO user friendly, super aesthetically pleasing, and best of all: you can have unlimited subscribers without the price going up. So here are some reasons we love it and some ways we use it:

 

01. PUT SIMPLY, IT’S BEAUTIFUL

As designers, aesthetic visuals are essential to our business, and Flodesk definitely checks that box. We are suckers for sleek and creative emails that stand out against the thousands that hit our inboxes each day. Flodesk’s tagline says it all: “Design emails people love to open.”

They’re have lots of templates that are fully customizable – upload your fonts, colors, and customize the blocks to fit your needs and make each of your emails on-brand and beautiful.

02. EASY USER EXPERIENCE

Flodesk makes creating emails as easy as posting to social media. It’s predominantly drag-and-drop, it can be done in minutes, and you don’t even need a design background to use it. You can also see how your emails will look on desktop and mobile so that your emails display seamlessly across devices (& No CSS required 🙌🏼)

 

03. ANALYTICS

Flodesk’s analytics are extremely easy to navigate and understand. You can view the analytics of each email by simply clicking ‘View Results’ in your email list. Every detail you need with one click: Analytics at a glance, open rate, clicks, deliverability, and you can even see which device the email was majorly opened on! For instance, most of our Collective members open their emails on desktop – which helps us with formatting our emails to best suit that device. Here’s an example:

 

04. WORKFLOWS

For those that may not know, workflows are a series of emails or actions that a new subscriber will receive when they join your email list – and Flodesk makes creating workflows so easy.

Flodesk has recently teamed up with Zapier, which means you can now connect Flodesk to any CRM you use to automatically add new email subscribers. (I.e. Dubsado, Honeybook, etc.)

There are SO many ways Workflows can help you with your email marketing, so definitely make sure you utilize this feature!


Now let’s talk more about how we use it:


We mainly use it to send out our monthly newsletters for the Collective. This is such an easy way to create & share our monthly mantra (an inspirational quote or reminder), share our Coffee Chat schedule for that month, and to send out any announcements or updates.

With each newsletter we input a link so that Collective members can easily add Coffee Chat reminders into their Google calendar, as well as a zoom link for each call that they can easily access.
